Fun with Jaron

Have I said lately how much I love my kids?   Today Jaron went
with me to Wal-mart to pick up some things and while there we had
to wait on the pharmacy to get my prescription filled.  We took a
walk over to the toy aisle and while I was looking at some things he
was goofing off.  This is what I saw when I turned around...

Think Twice!

REASONS YOU SHOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE MESSING WITH A SPECIAL NEEDS MOM:

1. Some of us have given up on social skills and don't care what we say or do.
2. We're not afraid to have A serious "meltdown" of our own.
3. We are tired and all the patience we have is for our kids.
4. We have A far shorter fuse for nonsense as a result of our responsibilities but A FAR thicker skin.
5. We can get you in a hold/ lock down position in less than 3.5 secs.
6.We can shoot you a look that would make a linebacker tremble in his boots.
7.Chances are it's been awhile since we've had a full night of sleep and that will give us a reason to plead insanity.
8. Our tolerance and patience is for our kids who didn't choose to have special needs, not for someone who CHOOSES to behave inappropriately and is ABLE to control their actions.
9. We're probably already on edge and it would be stupid to push us over.
10. We are sleep deprived and already defensive, and we spend all of our patience on our children, doctors, therapists, social workers and teachers, why would we waste an ounce of it on a total stranger?
11. We've had to fight from the moment of our child's birth so by the time you piss us off we're seasoned battlers and could win a war.
12.We devote our lives to our children and don't need more stress and people who don't understand our life.
13. Wherever there is a cub, there is a mama bear...We're always watching.

**Disclaimer: I did not come up with this.  A friend of mine sent it to me in an email.

Under the Weather

I am so tired of being tired.  Tired of being sick.  First I have some interesting reactions to the high dose of vit D.  Dizzy, nausea, stomach issues.  So I start taking that vit at night before bed.  Thankfully I only have to take it 2x a week.  Then last weekend I get hit with what I think was a stomach bug...not nice either.  Then Thursday after I start to feel a little better SLAM! Wake up Friday feeling ran over but the big mack trucks.  Coughing, congestion, body aches, chills, sore throat, can't breathe, lymph nodes all swollen, ears clogged and aching, feel just terrible.  I really dislike being sick and I am praying the diaperheads do NOT get this!  UGH!

Who Knew...

...that vitamin D was so important for adults.  Sure most of us have heard of "rickets" in children who do not get enough vit D. But adults?  So for a while now I have been battling chronic fatigue, all over body aches that include muscles and joints, headaches, sleeplessness, just complete BLAH!  SO I go for a routine check up and mention all of these things to the doc and she orders blood work.  Yesterday I got a call saying my labs were in and my vit D levels were extremely low. According to the labs 40 points too low.  UGH!  Well at least I know what is wrong and it's fixable. Can someone say BEACH VACATION PLEASE!!?!  Oh the joys of living up north.  Sure we are in the mid-states and not where they have nonstop snow or cold but we do have 4-5 months of cloudy weather and temps that keep you from staying in the sun.  Sigh!
I am thankful it is fixable...with high does of vit D supplement for 3 months and then more labs and we will go from there.  By then it will be spring and closer to summer and time to just soak in the sun.  I can't wait!!!

On a very much happier note God has provided through our tax refund for us to purchase a new van!  Well it's new to us!  I have to share that I have been praying that God would supply a used van that had lower than 75K miles and would cost no more than $3000.  Well my parents, bless their hearts, found us one!  YAY!!!  Actually it was for sale for $3800 and one of the salesmen said they would take $3000 and it only has 63K miles, it's a 1995 Olds Mobile Silhouette.  I am so happy!  Our old van died.  Oh it's fixable but who whats to keep pouring money into a van that just keeps breaking down?   Uhm NOT US!  So we now wait for my parents to bring it to us.  Soon we hope but we may have to wait till May.  Oh how I hope that changes soon!    Having one car is tough.  It barely fits a family of six and honestly the joys of driving my husband to work every night is tiring.  But so thankful he has a job and we still have one car that works!  So here are a few pictures of our new van...

Oh and get this!  This van was garaged, the 5 back seats NEVER sat in and it has never left the state of Florida.  It was used by an older couple who only drove it when they were being seasonal residents!  What a true blessing to our family.  Can't wait to get it home!  Thank you Jesus!  We asked, believed and You once again provided for our needs!
